Free auto insurance being offered during state plate exchange

Taxpayers who renew their license plates and circulation cards between January and March of this year will be provided with free auto insurance. The Government of Quintana Roo made the announcement Monday. Eugenio Segura Vázquez, head of the Ministry of Finance and Planning (Sefiplan), said it is the first time in the state that this type of offer has been made. While he explained that the auto insurance is extended to private vehicles only, he did not provide details regarding policy coverage.
